OUR TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGE
In our state-of-the-art facility, ADPEN Laboratories uses the latest laboratory instrumentation for its analytical testing. Some examples of the specialized instrumentation we use in the laboratory are listed below:
Liquid Chromatography with tandem Mass Spectrometry
Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is an analytical chemistry technique that combines the physical separation capabilities of liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC) with the mass analysis capabilities of mass spectrometry. LC-MS/MS is a powerful technique used for many applications which has very high sensitivity and selectivity. Generally its application is oriented towards the specific detection and potential identification of chemicals in the presence of other chemicals (in a complex mixture). At ADPEN Laboratories, Inc., we employ only the most sensitive and state-of-the-art LC-MS/MS triple quadrupole instruments.
High Pressure Liquid Chromatography
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), is a chromatographic technique that can separate a mixture of compounds and is used in biochemistry and analytical chemistry to identify, quantify and purify the individual components of the mixture. ADPEN Laboratories, Inc. currently employs Agilent 1290 UHPLC and 1200 HPLC systems throughout our laboratories.
Gas Chromatography
Gas chromatography (GC), is a common type of chromatography used in analytic chemistry for separating and analyzing compounds that can be vaporized without decomposition. Typical uses of GC include testing the purity of a particular substance, or separating the different components of a mixture (the relative amounts of such components can also be determined). In some situations; GC may help in identifying a compound. ADPEN Laboratories, Inc. currently employs Agilent GC-FID, GC-MS and GC-MS/MS systems.
Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE)
Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) is a technique for the extraction of solid and semisolid sample matrices using common solvents at elevated temperatures and pressures. Extractions that normally take hours can be done in minutes using ASE. ADPEN Laboratories, Inc. currently employs a Dionex ASE 200 Accelerated Solvent Extraction (ASE) System for automated extraction of sample matrices.
Automated Liquid Handling (Robotics)
The Freedom EVO 100 offers building-block modularity, precision, and reliable liquid handling and easy-to-use robotics. The EVO 100 platform can be combined with a wide choice of robotic arms, liquid handling tools and application options powered by user customizable software.
ICP-MS and qPCR are also other typical instrumentation that are available.
